Ten x Ten 2015: Rob Funderburk & Josh Berman

Our piece consists of eleven performance creators, including a visual artist among ten musicians. We do not intend to be interpretive, but rather to act. We see correlative mark-making as another instrument in our group arsenal, and anticipate new forms emerging by its inclusion. With a focus on the unique event-nature of our collaboration, we question whether what our piece sounds like, or looks like, is, or will be, important. At this stage, we intend to invent and define criteria for aesthetic value in our project moving forward. We are composing collectively in relation to improvisation, individual expression, and performance-as-event amid community. We welcome your feedback.
